Economic Development
I have been busy this week completing the final design touches of the community
profile. Lynnette will be proofing the 1st final draft copy and then I will distribute it
to all department heads for comment. I have received print quotes, taken pictures
of City Hall and area businesses and hope to send the final document to print the
first week of August.
The exciting news this week is the first work session of the Economic
Development Commission on July 21 , 1994. All the participants were enthused
and their comments lead me to believe that we have chosen an excellent,
aggressive commission. We are scheduled to have the first regular meeting on
Thursday August 25th at 6:00 p.m.
In other news, the Multi-Tech ground breaking was a great success and pictures
were possible between the rain storms. Scott Wiley was happy to have so many
representatives from the City attend. I will be forwarding pictures to the Bulletin
and Focus for inclusion in the papers. Isn't it nice that I do their job!
I will be taking a short trip to Michigan and will be out of the office from 7/25
through 7/27.
Cathy
PARKS, RECREATION AND FORESTRY
PARKS:
1. The drinking fountain is being installed at Oakwood Park this week.
2. Trail chipping at Silver View Park has been a major project for the seasonal crew this
week.
3. Mowing and trash detail continues to be a standard daily task.
4. Equipment repairs were necessary last week on mowing equipment, this week has been
better.
5. The Frizbee Golf Association would like to change a few disc golf hole locations at
Silver View and will be working with staff regarding the plan and action.
