* Clean and televise 1/5 of the city's sanitary sewer system. <br />Clean the remaining half of the Woodcrest storm sewer system. <br />* Continue to conduct flow monitoring test of the city's <br />sanitary sewer system. <br />STAFFING LEVEL PROJECTIONS <br />During the last couple of years staff has completed a few questionnaires regarding staffing <br />levels in the Public Works areas throughout the Stanton 5 cities. Levels inquired were in <br />water, sewer, streets and shop. In all accountable areas, Mounds View's staffing levels are <br />relatively to considerably lower than the other municipalities polled. Staff is recommending <br />that the following additional positions be considered to provide the maintenance needs for <br />the city and customers. <br />1995 - 1 seasonal streets <br />1996 - 1 full time public works position. Funded 1/4 <br />G/W/S/SWM, eliminate seasonal streets <br />1997 - 1 seasonal streets <br />1998 - 1 full time public works positions, Funded 1/4 <br />G/W/S/SWM, eliminate seasonal in streets <br />Seasonal employees currently budgeted in the water and sewer departments would remain <br />constant (4). <br />Should this staffing level be unachievable, some consideration to private contracting could be <br />an option. <br />Capital Plan <br />FLEET SERVICES <br />1995 <br />New break room furniture is requested to replace the current table and chairs. Public <br />Works has received the old chairs from city hall and the council chambers. These chairs <br />are constantly being repaired and many tip back too far. <br />Estimated cost: $ 5,000. Fleet Services, Building and Equipment Maintenance. <br />Replacing of the shop hoist lift arms is necessary at this time. Although continued <br />maintenance of this hoist has increased its' longevity, the arm assemblies are wearing out <br />45 <br />
