Request approval for the improvement of three walkway easements including easements located,at Quincy St. and Adams St., Pleasant View Dr. and Spring Lake Road, and Greenfield Place to Greenfield Park as part of the Street Repair Project. At the City Council Work Session on Monday, August 1 the City Council requested that I look into a funding source for the improvement to three walkway easements - to tag onto the street improvement project. The walkway easement joining Quincy St. (accessing Pinewood School) sidewalk and Adams Street, the Greenfield easement joining the neighborhood with Greenfield Park and the Pleasant View Dr. walkway connecting Spring Lake Road neighborhoods are three easements that have not yet been improved. All three are used especially by children to access schools, playgrounds, and neighborhoods and all three are in need of repair. Mike Ulrich, Public Works Director specified these walkway easements as an additional alternate bid to the street improvement project. The add bid of these walkway easement improvements with the 'street repair projects provides for a lesser cost than if the walkway easement repair was to be a separate project. The bid cost of repair to the three walkway easements is $20, 953. City Administrator Samantha Orduno suggested that the project could be funded through the Franchise Fee Fund. Finance Director Brager recommended the transfers and budget amendment which is provided in the recommendation below. 7:7 Mary Saari / 01 or f✓Parks, Recreation and Forestry RECOMMFNfATION To approve the improvement of three walkway easements including Adams St. to Pinewood School off Quincy Street sidewalk, Pleasant View Dr. to Spring Lake Road, and Greenfield Dr. to Greenfield Park for a cost of approximately $20,953 to be funded through the Franchise Fee Fund approving the transfer of $20,953 out of 295-4990 to 100-3961 and in addition approve an amendment to the General Fund Budget transferring in $20,953 to 100-3961 (revenue) and transferring in $20,953 to 100-4270-705 (streets ;construction).
