UN PPROVED <br />1 Mounds View City Council Page Seventeen <br />2 Regular Meeting July 25, 1994 <br />3 <br />4 <br />5 Councilmember Wuori stated that Trude reminded her well with the her comments on the problems <br />6 that we are seeing today with the kids. Mr. Frits made comments that there are a lot of good kids <br />7 out there, but there is also a lot of troubled kids. Putting in a park and providing services to show <br />8 them how to get along, act with others, and provide programs for the future of the children in the <br />9 community. <br />10 <br />11 Councilmember Trude stated it is a neighborhood park and if the neighbor -hood is not going to <br />12 support it why put it in. Trude stated there is a lot of turnover in that area. Most kids are in day <br />13 care and the day care kids are using the parks and the children that are home alone after school. <br />14 <br />15 Mayor Linke will vote against this resolution because of the NIMBY situation but hopes that the <br />16 resolution does pass. <br />17 <br />18 Councilmember Trude stated that she concurrs with Mayor Linke's <br />19 comments. <br />20 <br />21 VOTE: 2 ayes 2 nays Motion Failed <br />22 <br />23 Mayor Linke stated that he hopes those in that area will not use the other parks. <br />24 <br />25 <br />26 COUNCIL BUSINESS: <br />27 <br />28 There were no Consent Agenda items brought forward. <br />29 <br />30 A. Consideration of Action on Ordinance No. 544 Amending EDA By Laws <br />31 <br />32 Samantha Orduno, City Administrator, stated that this ordinance would amend the <br />33 EDA Bylaws by designating a regular monthly meeting of the EDA immediately <br />34 folowing the Council meetings on the 2nd Monday of each month and EDA <br />35 business would be discussed in conjunction wit the regular council work session on <br />36 the first Monday of each month. <br />37 <br />38 <br />39 MOTION/SECOND: Trude/Wuori to Waive the Reading and Approve the <br />40 Adoption of Ordinance No. 544 Amending the Economic <br />41 Development Authority By Laws, ARticle IV., Section 4.2, Entitled, "Regular Meetings" <br />42 <br />43 ROLL CALL VOTE: <br />44 <br />45 Mayor Linke yes <br />46 Councilmember Quick - absent <br />
