a bad example for his players.
Both Steve and Jeff are very frustrated about this incident because they had
spent one whole week just straightening and repairing bowed and damaged
backstops. All of our in-house youth and adult leagues are asked not to hit into
the backstops because of the damage that it causes.
RECREATION:
1. Sharie is teaching a Red Cross Babysitting Class this week, Wednesday and
Thursday mornings.
2. We have had nothing but great comments on the Safety Camp last week. Brad
did a great job with the help of Cathy Bednar. Also thanks to Bob Nelson who
lasted through 3 sessions of kids turning on and off the squad sirens and lights.
So many people and businesses contributed to the program - thank you going
out this week. Everyone wants the program to continue - and so it shall!
3. This is the last week of summer youth and adult softball leagues. August 15
begins adult fall softball and youth soccer league.
4. Summer specialty camps are scheduled this month with soccer camps this
week, music camp next week and Express Yourself the following week.
5. Staff is in the process of planning Fall activities - the season of many holidays
and special events ie. MEA activities.
LAKESIDE PARK BEACH:
1. Lakeside Park was a fantastic place to hold the safety camp. The beach will
close Monday, August 15. Picnics continue to be scheduled through September
11 at Lakeside Park. Also, Fall softball will be held at Lakeside Park.
GOLF COURSE:
1. NSP hooked up and the sprinkling system is being timed - water is being
sprayed! This means that seeding is close at hand. The practice range is all
ready. A few of the holes need fine grading yet before seeding but everything
is pretty much according to schedule.
2. The maintenance building is getting interior work ie. painting, ceramic tile, floor
boards and exterior staining. It is enclosed and lock -able and just about
complete.
3. They have begun framing the clubhouse. Hopefully it will go up quickly.
