of a full-time Planning Associate/Code Enforcement Officer to actively implement the City's <br />Zoning and Nuisance Codes. In addition, the City has begun the process of assessing the <br />housing conditions and needs of the city by hiring an Intern to conduct a very comprehensive <br />Housing Stock Analysis. It is the intent of the Council and City Staff to utilize the results of <br />this analysis to establish a program by which housing rehabilitation within the City can begin. <br />It is projected that following the completion of the Housing Stock Analysis, a full-time <br />Housing Inspector will be needed to begin the process of establishing a City program for <br />housing rehabilitation. It is anticipated that this position will be responsible for conducting <br />yearly inspections of the City's housing units as well as coordinating the administration of a <br />low interest loan program targeted at providing the residents of Mounds View with the means <br />necessary to rehabilitate their existing homes. <br />CAPITAL EXPENDITURES <br />1995 <br />* $3,000 - Personal Computer for Housing Inspector <br />* $2,000 - Laser Printer for Community Development <br />Coordinator to replace outdated equipment. <br />* $1,000 - Updates for CAD/GIS system to ensure continued <br />full utilization of software. <br />1996 <br />* $3,000 - Personal Computer for Building Inspector to <br />replace outdated equipment. <br />* $1,000 - Updates for CAD/GIS system to ensure continued <br />full utilization of software. <br />* $-56,000 - "Total Station" survey equipment to begin meeting <br />City surveying . needs with in-house Staff versus <br />Consulting services. <br />1997 <br />* $2,500 - Laser Printer for Department Secretary to replace <br />outdated equipment. <br />32 <br />
