* The roof work on the treatment plants, well 4, and flashing work has been
completed. Tuckpointing continues to progress on the buildings.
Mike
CiumimminimCOMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT
WOLF AND ASSOCIATES
Staff will be meeting with representatives of Wolf and Associates and residents of
the Townsedge Terrace Manufactured Home Park this week to discuss the
perceived problems the residents are experiencing with excessive noise generated
at the Wolf site. Within the past two weeks, a citation for excessive noise has
been issued to Wolf and they would like to meet with all parties involved to try and
reach an agreement on what noise levels are acceptable to the residents. Staff will
keep the Council posted on the results of that meeting.
CROUSE CARTAGE COMPANY
On August 18, I was made aware of site improvements which were being done at
2169 Mustang Drive. The Crouse Cartage Company, an Iowa-based trucking firm,
had purchased the property and begun grading for purposes of expanding the
parking area on the site. After checking the address files to determine whether or
not a permit had been issued for the work (it had not been), Rick Jarson and I
went to the site and informed the on-site construction manager that no permits for
the project had been issued and work could not continue until such permits were
secured. The on-site manager said that he would have a representative of the
company contact City Staff the next day.
On Friday the 19th, I received a call from Larry Crouse, President of Crouse
Cartage. Mr. Crouse stated that representatives of his company had contacted the
Building Inspector and that no permits were necessary for the project. I told Mr.
Crouse that I would check with the Building Inspector to see if he had spoken with
anyone regarding the project. I checked with Rick Jarson and found out that the
only conversations he had with the representatives of Crouse Cartage dealt with
interior renovations to the building; Therefore, he did not make them aware of the
Planning process. I went on to tell Mr. Crouse that the project was subject to a
City review process at both the Planning Commission and City Council levels. I
explained the reasons for the review and informed him that City Staff would do
everything possible to expedite the process.
