Consideration of Resolution No. 4597 Deposing Runway and Control <br /> 19 Tower Development at Anoka County-Blaine Airport <br /> 20 <br /> 21 Samantha Orduno, City Administrator, stated that on July 13, former <br /> 22 City Attorney and herself attended the Metropolitan Council's <br /> 23 Transportation Committee's Public Hearing on the proposed changes to <br /> 24 the Aviation Chapter of the Metropolitan Development Guide. Orduno <br /> 25 presented the proposed changes for this airport. Orduno stated that <br /> 26 the important concern was proposed guidelines governing the <br /> 27 development of long-range plans for the MAC's smaller airports, <br /> 28 including the Anoka County-Blaine Airport. Orduno further reported <br /> 29 that the members of the Transportation Committee were reminded of <br /> 30 the stipulations of the July, 1986 Ramsey County Court Order which <br /> 31 stated that MAC agreed to develop the AC/B Airport as a "minor use" <br /> 32 airport and to restrict the installation and use of any instrument <br /> 33 landing system or microwave landing system solely to the east/west <br /> 34 Runway No. 826. 1 <br /> 35 <br /> 36 Orduno reported that Resolution No. 4597, attached, Deposing Runway <br /> 37 and Control Tower Development at Anoka County-Blaine Airport follows <br /> 38 up the testimony presented by herself and Dick Meyers at the <br /> 39 hearing. This resolution, if approved, will be forwarded to the <br /> 40 members of the Transportation Committee as well as members of the <br /> 41 Metropolitan Council, with a more expansive letter of explanation to <br /> 42 the City's Metropolitan Council representative, Mr. Patrick Leung. <br /> 43 <br /> 44 Discussion followed among the Council regarding the traffic patterns <br /> 45 of the Anoka County-Blaine Airport. <br /> 46 <br /> 47 Councilmember Trude asked if when the planes are coming down they <br /> 48 are not supposed to be south of County Road J. <br /> 49 <br /> 50 Mayor Linke stated that the planes are to stay north of 85th. <br /> 51 <br /> 52 MOTION/SECOND: Linke/Blanchard to Adopt Resolution No. 4597 <br /> 53 Deposing Runway and Control Tower Development At Anoka County-Blaine <br /> 54 Airport <br />
