UNAPPROVED <br /> 1 Mounds View City Council Page Eleven <br /> 2 Regular Meeting September 12, 1994 <br /> 3 <br /> 4 <br /> 5 <br /> 6 Jim Thomson, City Attorney, stated that the Open Meeting Law states <br /> 7 that the grounds for closing this meeting have to be stated. The <br /> 8 grounds for closing this meeting is Subd. lb, paragraph c. which <br /> 9 allows a public body to close a meeting to discuss preliminary <br /> 10 considerations of matters concerning an employee. Mayor Linke <br /> 11 closed the meeting. Mayor Linke indicated that the Council would <br /> 12 move to Conference Room A to discuss this matter. <br /> 13 <br /> 14 Mayor Linke reopened the meeting at 9: 40. <br /> 15 <br /> 16 MOTION/SECOND: Wuori/Quick to Adopt Resolution No. 4634 Resolution <br /> 17 of Intent to Dismiss <br /> 18 <br /> 19 REPORTS <br /> 20 <br /> 21 1. Report of Councilmembers: <br /> 22 <br /> 23 Councilmember Quick - No report. <br /> 24 <br /> 25 Councilmember Blanchard reminded everyone to vote on <br /> 26 Tuesday. <br /> 27 <br /> 28 Blanchard asked Mayor Linke to report on the shots <br /> 29 fired in the City. Linke stated that shots were not <br /> 30 fired at the patrolman. <br /> 31 <br /> 32 Samantha Orduno stated that there was the potential <br /> 33 for one of our officers to be wounded or killed. <br /> 34 It doesn't just happen in St. Paul, it can happen <br /> 35 here. Our officers do put their life on the line. <br /> 36 Councilmember Blanchard is concerned that the people <br /> 37 know this. <br /> 38 <br /> 39 Councilmember Blanchard stated that our officers did <br /> 40 not hesitate to go after these people after finding out <br /> 41 that there was a weapon involved. <br /> 42 <br /> 43 Mayor Linke thanked New Brighton Police, Ramsey County <br /> 44 Sheriff Department, Minnesota State Highway Patrol for <br /> 45 coming to Mounds View's aid after hearing shots were <br /> 46 fired. <br /> 47 <br /> 48 Councilmember Wuori: No report. <br /> 49 <br /> 50 Councilmember Trude: Advised the public that there <br /> 51 were four openings on the Charter Commission and <br /> 52 gave some background on terms for Charter Commission <br /> 53 members. <br /> 54 <br />
