■ ■ ■ ■
THlS IS
For the Week of September 25 - September 29, 1994
ADMINISTRATION
ADMINISTRATION
I spent an hour this afternoon with all the fifth graders at Pinewood explaining to them
just what the City of Mounds View does - form of government, department functions
and finances. The experience reinforces my good choice in never considering
teaching. There is enough money in the world to pay teachers for what they have to
do everyday.
The best part of the presentation was the 1993 aerial photo of the City that Michele
and Mary Saarion fixed up with pictures and landmark identifications. The kids
thought that was great. I doubt that they were to impressed with my presentation. As I
was leaving one young man said, "You know Lady, you're funny but that stuff about
sewers was pretty boring."
Paul, Cathy, Tim C. and I met with Charlie Hall today to once again discuss the
possibility of an economic redevelopment project involving a banquet facility on the
site, either in combination with a major hotel or without the hotel. A lot of what Charlie
would like to do hinges on the County's plans for Old 8 and County Road H.
REMINDER A special meeting is scheduled for Monday at 6:00 p.m. to discuss a
litigation matter. The City Attorney will be there as well as representatives from the
LMCIT (League's Insurance Trust).
