Woodlawn Apts.
Paul and I attended the second meeting of the Woodlawn Apts. Coalition (so named
by one of the residents) on Wednesday evening. Representatives from three buildings
were in attendance as well as the manager of an adjacent complex.
I believe we are making progress by facilitating an open dialogue between the
tenants, management company, the owners, neighbors and the City. One of the
results of the meeting last evening was agreement that the City's top priority repair
items (fire door replacement/repair, smoke detectors and other essential repairs)
would be completed within 30 days.
The purpose of the next meeting will be to prioritize the remaining repair/replacement
items and determine a better process by which repairs are made by the management
company.
Customer Service
This week, Tim C. and I met with Georgine Madden, the consultant who conducted
this month's customer service workshop for employees. She guarantees customer
satisfaction and felt the rating of 4.4 out 5 given to her by the employees was less
than what she felt was customer satisfaction. She plans to do some follow-up
sessions to achieve our complete satisfaction. Gee, I wish all consultants we come
deal with had such high standards.
WELCOME BACK JULIE! HOPE YOU HAD A WONDERFUL TIME IN BEANTOWN!
Samantha
Administrative Policy Manual
The overhaul of this document is well underway. It has been organized and a copy
given to each Department Head for review and suggestions. The intent is to have a
complete, thorough document bound in a three ring binder for easy update and
distributed to all city employees for quick, accurate reference.
Job Descriptions
The process of upgrading all job descriptions to comply with the Americans with
Disabilities Act has begun. All supervisors will be reviewing each job description with
their respective employees during the annual performance evaluation. To prepare for
this, each supervisor has been given a copy of the most recent available job
description and a boiler plated sample of Americans with Disabilities Act language.
