15
REQUEST FOR COUNCIL CONSIDERATION Agenda Section:
JJ'w 94-1325WS
STAFF REPORT Report Number:
OK
Report Date: 9-28-94
AGENDA SESSION DATE ni-ti tither 1, 1_Q94
DISPOSITION
Item Description:
Consideration of Park Patrol
Administrator's Review/Recommendation:
- No comments to supplement this report' . , 41_j
i
- Comments attached. ,`
Explanation/Summary (attach supplement\sheets as/necessary.)
$UMMMARY;
I would like to organize a volunteer park patrol. I think that there
would be several members of the community that would be interested in
participating in such a program. Program development would require
training, some sort of uniforms, customer service information, ordinance
review and explanation, safety training, first aid and CPR training,
etc.
The Minnesota Parks and Recreation Association and the National
Recreation & Parks Association are forming a new Park Law Enforcement
Section. This section would provide us with networking and ideas,
information sharing and training for a Park Law Enforcement program of
our own.
Enclosed is information recently received by the MRPA and the NRPA
regarding the movement to begin a Park Law Enforcement Section. I wish
to discuss this idea with the City Council at the October Work Session.
•
.6 /i, _.it_-.moi<<%/
Mary Saar on, Di --ct•Sf -Parks, Re reation and Forestry
le
RECOMMENDATION:
