* Wally, Larry, Bill Hanggi, and Bill Hanson attended a locator seminar this week.
* The irrigation system has been completed throughout the new ballfield and Police
parking lot. Due to the cool weather expected the remainder of the season, staff
will be dormant seeding this project in November. Final grade will be prepared as
weather permits, and sod placed around sprinkler heads and edges of the curb
and street.
Mike
COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT
MEETING WITH DYNEX
Staff met with Brian Sjoberg of Dynex Industries this week to discuss the possibility of
Dynex moving forward with a facility expansion. In the late 1980's, Dynex was given
City approval to construct their current facility. At that same time, a conceptual plan
for the future expansion of that facility was given preliminary approval.
Mr. Sjoberg indicated that it was the desire of Dynex to construct the facility
expansion, utilize a portion for their needs and, lease the remainder of the facility to
light manufacturing companies until the additional space is needed by Dynex. Even
though Dynex does not currently need the entire area included in the expansion, they
would construct the entire planned expansion as a cost saving measure.
Staff will be providing Mr. Sjoberg with information on prevailing lease rates and
demand for space in order to assist Dynex in determining the feasibility of the
expansion plan.
WOODLAWN TERRACE ISSUES
This afternoon (Thursday), Staff met with a resident of Woodlawn Terrace regarding
the amount of his NSP bill. That's right, it seems the City of Mounds View is now
responsible for the rate structure at NSP. The resident wanted to know what the City
could do to assist him in paying his bill. Staff told the resident that NSP does have
different payment plans and that he should call them directly from now on with
questions regarding his bill. Strange, but true. On the positive side, I look at this
experience as more material for my memoirs.
