Mayor Linke read the Plaque Honoring the 50th Anniversary of the <br /> 8 Mounds View/Blaine/Spring Lake Park Fire Department and presented <br /> 9 the same to Fire Chief Ron Fagerstrom. <br /> 10 <br /> 11 Chief Fagerstrom thanked the City Council on behalf of the members <br /> 12 of the Fire Department. <br /> 13 <br /> 14 b. Mayor Linke announced the Boy Scouts from Troop 167 were part of the <br /> 15 Council audience. <br /> 16 <br /> 17 CONSENT AGENDA <br /> 18 <br /> 19 Samantha Orduno read the Consent Agenda and also explained that the <br /> 20 Consent Agenda is a way for the Council to approve many items under one <br /> 21 motion. <br /> 22 <br /> 23 Mayor Linke asked if there were any items the Council desired removed <br /> 24 from the Consent Agenda. There were no items removed. <br /> 25 <br /> 26 MOTION/SECOND: Blanchard/Wuori to Adopt the Consent Agenda As Presented <br /> 27 <br /> 28 VOTE: 4 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried <br /> 29 <br /> 30 RESIDENTS REQUESTS AND COMMENTS FROM THE FLOOR <br /> 31 <br /> 32 There were no resident requests or comments during this meeting. <br /> 33 <br /> 34 PUBLIC HEARINGS: <br /> 35 <br /> 36 7: 05 p.m. To Consider Request for Conditional Use Permit, 8425 Spring <br /> 37 Lake Road <br /> 38 <br /> 39 Mayor Linke opened the public hearing at 7: 05 p.m. <br /> 40 <br /> 41 Paul Harrington, Community Development Coordinator, explained that Brady <br /> 42 Neumann made application for a Conditional Use Permit to allow the <br /> 43 construction of a 576 square foot garage. Harrington reported that Mr. <br /> 44 Neumann's request met all requirements of the Municipal Code for issuance <br /> 45 of the permit, however, the Code stipulates if the garage exceeds 1000 <br /> 46 sq. ft, no other accessory buildings would be allowed don the property. <br /> 47 Neumann's property also contained an 8' x 8' accessory building. <br /> 48 <br /> 49 Harrington stated that Nuemann was informed that to meet the intent of <br /> 50 the Code, the existing accessory building would need to be removed in the <br /> 51 event that the Conditional Use Permit was granted. Mr. Neumann decided <br /> 52 to remove the existing 8' x 8' structure and increase of the size of the <br /> 53 addition to his garage. Harrington further reported that the Planning <br /> 54 Commission approved a resolution recommending approval of an addition to <br />
