I told her <br /> that the City had an interest in purchasing the property and that park <br /> acquisition funding was proposed in the 1995 budget. Kay indicated that <br /> her family had the land appraised and the appraised value was $40, 000. <br /> Staff requests the approval of the City Council to have our own <br /> appraisal done on the property so that we can then negotiate the sale of <br /> the property at a later date. The proposed 1995 Budget includes $25, 000 <br /> for park land acquisition. <br /> • <br /> Mary Saario , ,`• a or of Parks, Recreation and Forestry <br /> J ECOMMENDATION; <br /> Approve the funding of an appraisal of the Newton grassland property, to be funded with contingency funds, thus <br /> approving the transfer of contingency funds, not to exceed $350 (estimate is $250 unless something is atypical in <br /> this appraisal), to Parks Operations, 100 - 4360 - 160. <br />
