This path
would be 8 feet wide, 400 feet long, and constructed north of the
berms along the Police driveway. It has been noted that numerous
ball players do park on Bronson Drive and walk to the field via the
tower/reservoir driveway. There is not a path to the field from
here . It could be considered beneficial to construct an additional
200 foot path in this location also. Quotes obtained reflect price
per lineal foot .
Council also requested lighting of this path, from the ballfield to
approximately the most westerly berm. In surveying the area it was
noted that the street light at the intersection of Bronson and
Edgewood, and the Police lot lighting should provide adequate light
the remaining distance to Edgewood Drive. This system would be
controlled with a time clock. Since these items are an addition to
the original bid for the Police lot, both contractors were
requested to quote a change order.
Quotes on the above mentioned construction are as follows :
8 Foot Bituminous Path 400 ft 600 ft
Bituminous Consulting $3 :980 $5, 970
Lighting of Pathway
Bacon Electric $4 , 150
These two additions to the parking lot / ballfield construction
were not budgeted in the original funding. Funding of the parking
lot project was received from the Silver Lake Woods Account 649-
4120-990000, lighting from the Street Light Account 770-4121-703 .
Staff se= s Council direction in this matter.
t7 ±
Mic ael Ulrich, Director of Public Works
RECOMMENDATION:
