Commissioner Nelson made a motion, Commissioner Mountin seconded, to approve <br /> Resolution EDC94-1 with the amendments to move the December 22, 1994 meeting date <br /> to December 17, 1994 and add a submission deadline, to be determined by staff, for <br /> public information. <br /> 7 ayes 0 nays <br /> Motion Carried <br /> C. Consideration of Resolution EDC94-2 Approving the Adoption of Economic Development <br /> Commission Bylaws. <br /> Coordinator Bennett noted that per the Municipal Code Chapter 408.07. Subdivision 6, <br /> Bylaws outlining the governance of the Economic Development Commission shall be <br /> adopted at the first regular meeting of the Commission and reviewed annually. <br /> A motion was made by Commission Nelson, and seconded by Commission Mountin, to <br /> approve Resolution EDC94-2 Adopting the Economic Development Commission Bylaws. <br /> 7 ayes 0 nays <br /> Motion Carried <br /> D. Consideration of Approval of the Economic Development Commission 1994 Mission <br /> Statement and Work Plan. <br /> Coordinator Bennett presented eight action steps for the Commission to focus on in 1994 <br /> concerning economic development activities in the City. Commissioner Mountin <br /> presented a draft mission statement for the Economic Development Commission to <br /> introduce the 1994 work plan. <br /> It was requested that each of the action steps start with the preface of"Begin", "Evaluate" <br /> or"Initiate"where appropriate because many of the items will be carried over to 1995 <br /> since there are four months left in 1994. It was requested to add an action item to <br /> ensure that the Mounds View public is kept aware of the EDC activities and input is <br /> encouraged. <br /> Commissioner Mountin made a motion, and Chairman Welsch second, to accept the <br /> mission statement as presented and accept the 1994 work plan adding a preface to each <br /> action step and adding action step nine encouraging communication between the <br /> Commission and the public. <br /> 7 ayes 0 nays <br /> Motion Carried <br /> E. Discussion Regarding Mounds View business interviews of the North Metro Business <br /> Retention and Development Commission Program. <br /> Coordinator Bennett reported all of the businesses will be surveyed and interviewed as <br /> part of North Metro Business Retention and Development Commission to collectively <br /> evaluate the needs and future growth of businesses in the North Metro area. Bennett has <br /> participated in a select few interviews and was not very satisfied with the professionalism <br /> 2 <br />
