MEMO TO: PAUL HARRINGTON, COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR
FROM: RICK JARSON, BUILDING INSPECTOR
RE: 7618 EDGEWOOD DRIVE
Attached are the proposals and the inspection report for the above
property. In addition to these proposals the following two items
which are not part of the proposals, must be included.
1. The cost of locksmith service to gain access to the individual
apartments. These apartments are presently occupied and do require
locks on the doors for the tenants and yet we do need to allow the
contractor access to the apartments when he requires. Approximate
cost $75-$100.
2 . The cost of collecting and disposing of the garbage on the
exterior of the building. Approximate cost $750-$1000
The proposal from AAA Handyman Service does not include the
following items:
1. The carpet repair in apartment #202 - approximate range of cost
is $250-$750. The contractor was unable to gain access to review
this item.
2 . Fire extinguisher replacement - approximate cost is $300. 00.
There are two items to be noted on the proposal as follows:
1. Item #1 - Front window unit #101. Although the front window
does need repair this was not on the inspection report. You may
want to review the wording of the City Council's order dated June
27, 1994, to determine how much latitude we have with this matter.
2 . Item #9 - Repair sheetrock, taping and painting unit #101.
This item was reinspected on October 7, 1994, and was found to be
complete but an apparent plumbing leak above the ceiling has
already caused water damage and the ceiling to sag.
The proposal from S AND J HANDYMAN does not include the carpet
repair in apartment #202 . Again the approximate range of cost is
$250-$750.
