PUBLIC WORKS
* Staff assisted in the election setup and take down this week. This is a task that we look
forward to every couple of years. Of course the Public Works staff thanks Michele for the 2
dozen donuts she left the morning after the election!!!
* Staff completed the pouring of concrete for the material storage bins last week. Now we are
disassembling the forming material and preparing them for use.
* Staff is still changing equipment, preparing for the winter season. We've been very fortunate
thus far, but something tells us we don't have many more weeks left like this past one.
* Staff is sweeping leaves this week on the north side of the City.
A minor breakdown occurred, it was repaired and the sweeper was back in service later in the
week. Staff will move to the south side of the City some time next week.
* The Water Division is wrapping up the remainder of the hydrant pumping this week, and
beginning to winterize the treatment plants. They also have a list of meters to check for
improper readings, non-operating meters, and faulty remotes.
* Staff has reviewed a sample RFP for the Automatic Meter Reading conversion this week I
will finalize it next week, and submit it for advertising. It is possible that staff will have
enough information available for discussion at the December work session.
Mike
