CM O Agenda Section: 8.C
REQUEST FOR COUNCIL CONSIDERATION Report Number: 94-1370C
lir Report Date: 11-10194
STAFF REPORT Council Action:
❑ Special Order of Business
CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE November 14, 1994 ❑ Public Hearings
E Consent Agenda
❑ Council Business
Item Description: Approve the Installation of Additional Fencing at the Golf Course
Administrator's Review/Recommendation:
- No comments to supplement this report %4 1'
- Comments attached.
Explanation/Summary (attach supplement sheets as necessary.)
SUMMARY;
Golf course construction contract has been completed by Veit, Co. Inc.
The construction contract did not include complete fencing of the
entire golf course. However, this is a necessity for security
reasons . The north border from 35W to the maintenance building should
be fenced to ensure that people cannot enter the golf course without
first paying. In addition, fencing is needed along the border of
Pomp's parking lot and the front of the parking lot entry. With the
addition of this fencing the golf course will be completely secure
keeping tresspassers, cars, snowmobiles and non-paying customers out
from entering other than through an open entry gate. E
I
Kurt has obtained three quotes for the additional fencing. The quotes
are as follows:
Crown Fencing $12,750
Keller Fencing 13,500
Town & Country Fencing 13,250
Crown Fencing is also able to install the fencing yet this year
whereas the other two companies could not guarantee installation
before the snow falls. Crown Fencing has done other parks fencing and
the department has been satisfied with their work.
This funding would be with golf course maturation monies which are
designed to be used for operations between the time the construction
contract is complete to opening operations. These maturation monies
are figured in the bond sales funding schedule.
Staff wishes to have this done as soon as possible and therefore is
requesting approval of the expenditure for additional fencing and low
bid award to Crown Fencing.
Ma S ari ector of Parks, Recreation and Forestry
flECOMMENDATION: To approve the instlation of additional fencing at the golf
course by the low bidder, Crown Fencing, at a cost of $12,750 to be paid with
maturation monies set aside and budgeted as a part of the golf course course bond
sale for golf course development, 698-4121-730-000.
