EQC MINUTES <br /> 8-16-94 <br /> PAGE THREE <br /> Chair Oman stated he would be present for any questions from the City <br /> Council. <br /> D. Chair Oman, noting the continual absence of several members, requested the <br /> City Council consider advertise for new Environmental Quality Commission <br /> member. ACTION ITEM: Staff was directed to draft Resolution 6-94, <br /> requesting Advertisement for new Environmental Quality Commission <br /> members, and place the item on the next scheduled City Council meeting for <br /> approval. Ms. Pruitt was directed to advertise immediately should the <br /> Council approve the request for advertisement of new EQC members. Oman <br /> moved, Brainard seconded a motion for staff to pursue advertising <br /> immediately following City Council approval of Resolution 6-94. <br /> E. The Preliminary Plan for Landscaping for Wildlife/Greenspace was directed <br /> to be placed on the September 6, 1994 City Council work session, where <br /> Chair Oman would be available for questions. ACTION ITEM: EQC <br /> Members directed Ms. Pruitt to draft Resolution 7-94, Landscaping For <br /> Wildlife. Staff was directed to place this item on the September 7, 1994 City <br /> Council work session for Council review and action. EQC members <br /> requested Ms. Pruitt investigate the possibility of this Item being placed on <br /> Parks and Recreation Commission and Planning Commission Meetings <br /> following approval by the City Council. Chair Oman noted he would be <br /> available for questions at the City Council workshop and other commission <br /> meetings. Commissioner Brainard stated she would like the Environmental <br /> Quality Commission to meet with he Economic Development Commission as <br /> well. Brainard moved, Trotta seconded, a motion to encourage the City <br /> Council to adopt Resolution 7-94 at the September 7, 1994 meeting. 3-0. <br /> F. The Environmental Quality Commission stated they encouraged the City <br /> Council to apply for funding from the Minnesota Department of <br /> Transportation, Division of Landscaping for the Highway 10 corridor. <br /> ACTION ITEM: Staff was directed to draft Resolution 8-94, request for City <br /> Council approval to send forward a letter written by Mr. Trotta to the <br /> Minnesota Department of Transportation. <br /> VII. NEW BUSINESS <br /> A. Festival in the Park Report. Commissioner Trotta distibuted Greenway flyers <br /> at the Environmental Quality Commission booth during the festival. A <br /> special thanks by other members was extended to him for Mr. Trotta's <br /> participation. City Administrator Orduno was also thanked for her <br /> contribution in preparing the Greenway flyers for festival distribution. <br />
