program. All of Mounds View's interviews will be complete by December 16,
1994. I should be able to present a summary report for the January work
session. Also, Samantha suggested we host a thank you reception for all the
key representatives who participated in the program. At this time we can also
give then an overview of the findings from the survey.
Marketing:
• Jennifer informed me that a representative from the Star Tribune called her
regarding housing statistics for a piece they were putting together on area
City's for new residents to the Twin Cities area. She had received a copy of
our community profile and commented that it was the most complete and
professional brochure she had received from any other community. Also she
commented on the warm greeting she received from Audrey and the wonderful
assistance from several other staff in answering her questions.
Outreach:
• I met with representatives from Metro East Development Partnership (MEDP) to
learn more about the various services they provide for business development in
Ramsey, Dakota and Washington Counties. In addition to site survey analysis
for major commercial/industrial clients, MEDP also provides extensive data base
information and business linkage resources. Representatives from MEDP will
be making a presentation to the Council at the December work session.
• I was interviewed by Barb Haake for the upcoming segment of a "View from the
Mound". I gave an update on new developments in the business park, the
business retention program, EDC activities and the Marketing Task Force.
• Last week I attended an open house at BelAir Builders facility which is just a
stones throw from Dynex in New Brighton. The manager of business
development, Jim Winkles, was formally with several north metro cities in
various community development and economic development capacities. I also
met several real estate developers and financial people. Mr. Winkles is very
connected in the development field and may be a great resource upon the
redevelopment of highway 10.
Cathy
