The purpose of the
Teambuilding Workshop would be to have Council, myself and Tim
Cruikshank meet in an informal setting and develop the professional
framework in which we will all work together in the future.
Sue Hankner has suggested that we all do the Meyers-Briggs. It has
been a while since most of the current Councilmembers have
completed that instrument and Julie, Tim and I have not taken it
since we began our tenure with the City. I think the suggestion is
an excellent one as I have found the Meyers-Briggs to be a very
worthwhile instrument that helps one better understand themselves
and others, but most importantly, it helps one to better understand
others and how they perceive and process their environment.
Two weeks ago, I was contacted by a Plymouth Councilmember who was
interested in information regarding the City's Charter amendment on
term limits. During the course of the conversation he mentioned the ,
Pro-Plymouth Pledge. It was mentioned in the context of another
subject so he did not elaborate, but it caught my attention (I
think primarily because of the alliteration) . Later that day I
requested that Tim C. obtain from Plymouth this "Pro-Plymouth
Pledge" . I have attached the document.
Recently, Cathy, Tim C. and I were brainstorming about marketing
and public relations and began to talk about the Pro-Plymouth
Pledge and a suggestion by Susan Fisher (Marketing Task Force) that
the City institute a P.R. program with a catchy title such as MVP -
Mounds View Pride. Well, the brainstorming began in ernest then.
We began to extrapolate from the concept of a Mounds View Pledge
entered into by Council and staff to a City-wide Mounds View Pledge
(MVP) with the P symbolizing Pride, People, Positiveness,
Professionalism, Pro-active, and so on. The MV Pledge could be
presented to the community at the Festival and, like the City's
6 .
PRINTED WITH
SOYINK
2401 Highway 10 • Mounds View, MN 55112-1499 49
recycled paper
