PUBLIC WORKS
* Staff met with representatives from Honeywell on Monday to discuss work
plans, and completed an introductory tour of the City facilities. They returned
on Tuesday to proceed with the site inspections and evaluations.
* Staff picked up the tanker truck on Monday and has started to install the parts -
- the parts removed prior to the sandblasting and painting. Tim, Steve, and Jeff
have now begun the task of removing and installing a new motor that Gary
found at the Federal Surplus Outlet in Arden Hills. This motor is brand new and
was purchased for $500. When the City purchased the truck we knew the
engine was in need of some work. An estimate was received to rebuild the
original engine for $1,800. Gary has been thanked many times for his discovery
of the new engine.
* Staff has been fine tuning the snow plowing procedure and operator's
assignments. These new procedures will produce more accountability, fewer
breakdowns, and increased customer service.
* Staff will be advertising for bids to perform preventative wellhead maintenance
in the next couple of weeks for two well sites. Review of specifications must be
performed prior to advertisement.
* Staff has completed the review of the RFP that will be advertised after the final
copy is typed. We expect to have a report to Council by the February work
session. As everyone involved in the water meter situation (reading, billing, and
servicing), knows staff is anticipating a good report and possible implementation
of the project!
Mike
