THlS IS
IT . . . .
For the Week of December 5 - December 9, 1994
ADMINISTRATION
ADMINISTRATION
MERMAID PROPOSAL
This week, Cathy and I met with Charlie Hall, Dan Hall and Barb
Haake in regards to Charlie's proposal to build a conference
center and possible hotel adjacent to his current building.
Charlie wanted to get a better understanding of Rice Creek
Watershed's restrictions, rules and general philosophy in regards
to his proposal. Barb was very receptive to the idea of Charlie
and Dan attending an informal work session of the District to
present his preliminary proposal. The purpose of the meeting
would be for Charlie and the Board to "get a feel" for the
proposed project and discuss the District's position as it would
relate to the drainage and ponding issues.
Charlie and Dan remain very excited about the project and are
pursuing all the necessary preliminary steps before investing
additional money into plans and financial pro formas.
The proposed project involves the acquisition and relocation of
the rental business and could also involve acquisition and
relocation of the antique store. Charlie is aware that any tax
increment assistance would require that the project pay for
itself in terms of sufficient increment generated to repay any
"qualifying expenses" .
