MY OF <br /> REQUEST FOR COUNCIL CONSIDERATION Agenda Section: 11. <br /> STAFF REPORT Report Number: 95-1405ws <br /> 11170S <br /> � AGENDA SESSION DATE July 10, 1995 Report Date: 6-2 9-9 5 <br /> DISPOSITION <br /> Item Description: Consideration of Providing Contract Maintenance to Proposed <br /> Ramsey County 'irnback Roads <br /> Administrator's Review/Recommendation. <br /> - No comments to supplement this rep. t r °:c% ± x+.-.< <br /> t <br /> - Comments attached. ) <br /> Explanation/Summary (attach suppleme. sheets as ecessary.) <br /> SUMMARY; <br /> Staff met with representatives from Ramsey County on June 28 , 1995 to <br /> further discuss the possibility of the City of Mounds View providing <br /> contract maintenance to the proposed turnback roads . Summarizing the <br /> meeting, Ramsey County will reimburse the City for all maintenance <br /> activities performed on the proposed turnback roads to the time in which <br /> the City has accepted the turnback. The amounts payable can and will <br /> include labor, materials, equipment, and any overhead. <br /> The discussion of this proposal was initiated to increase the service level <br /> of the County' s winter maintenance, and to the City' s sidewalk snow removal <br /> program. Staff' s opinion is that this agreement is fair and equitable for <br /> all parties concerned. Staff does not anticipate that any additional staff <br /> will be required to perform the maintenance of these roadways . One <br /> additional piece of snow removal equipment would be beneficial for both the <br /> additional turnback miles, and the City' s current street mileage. The funds <br /> received from Ramsey County can help subsidize the purchase of this <br /> equipment . <br /> This agreement is an excellent example of intergovernmental cooperation, <br /> to improve service levels to both agencies, for the betterment of the <br /> community. <br /> Staff has attached the proposed agreement from Ramsey County for Council' s <br /> review.
