IIs ADVISORY COMMISSIONS <br /> A. PUBLIC SERVICE PROGRAM <br /> Advisory Commissions/ Task Forces <br /> Program. Function and. Service Standards <br /> Advisory Commissions are created by the City Council and under the Council's specific <br /> direction, explore topics that may impact City policy. The Planning Commission has <br /> additional statutory responsibilities and authority whose primary function is to serve in <br /> an advisory capacity to the Council. The City has 4 advisory commissions: <br /> o Planning Commission <br /> o Economic Development Commission <br /> o Parks and Recreation Commission <br /> o Cable Commission <br /> Two task forces, the Golf Course Task Force and the Senior Center Task Force, were <br /> specific direction had been fulfilled to advise the City Council on the progress of the golf <br /> course sunsetted in 1995. <br /> Each year, at the Strategic Planning Session, the Five Year Goal Plan which lists the <br /> goals and action steps to be achieved in 5 years are updated to incorporate the <br /> recommendations of the FOCUS 2000 Issue Project Teams. The revised goals and <br /> action steps represent the City's implementation plan for the FOCUS 2000 <br /> recommendations. <br /> 4 <br />
