LONG TERM FINANCIAL PLAN <br /> COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT <br /> The Community Development Department, currently consisting of <br /> the Community Development Coordinator, Engineering Aide, <br /> Building Inspector, Planning Associate/Code Enforcement <br /> Officer, Housing Inspector and Department Secretary, has as <br /> its focus the administrative application of land use and <br /> building regulations as adopted by the Municipal Code. The <br /> main goal of the Department is to ensure that development <br /> within the City is accomplished in accordance with the <br /> requirements spelled out in various City Codes as well as <br /> planning and providing for a conducive living and working <br /> habitat for Mounds View' s resident population. <br /> In 1996 and beyond, the Department will continue to provide <br /> quality services to the City, including: <br /> a. Planning and Zoning Review, zoning code enforcement, <br /> development review, planning and zoning code review. <br /> b. Building inspection, fire inspection, housing inspection <br /> and plan review. <br /> c. Recycling coordination and reporting, educational <br /> activities to reduce solid waste disposal problems and <br /> incentives for recycling. <br /> d. Implementation of zoning and sign code regulations <br /> including issuance of permits and enforcement of <br /> violations; also including enforcement of public nuisance <br /> codes related to land use. <br /> e. Housing rehabilitation program administration - including <br /> grant administration, rental inspection and promotion <br /> 1996 - 2000 GOALS <br /> 1996 <br /> * Finalize updates to Zoning and Sign chapters of the Mounds <br /> View Municipal Code. <br /> * Begin implementation of recommendations contained in the <br /> Housing Stock Analysis Report. <br /> * Enhance the rental housing inspection program by increasing <br /> the number of inspections provided. <br /> * Establish Multi-Family Managers Coalition. <br /> * Work on development of program for the amortization of non- <br /> oc <br />
