I attended the AMM's annual regional breakfast with the Mayor on Tuesday morning <br /> (7:30 a.m.!). The Metro Livability Act was discussed at length. Jennifer is in contact <br /> with the Met Council representatives to make sure that we obtain the necessary <br /> documentation this month to present to the Council for consideration of participating <br /> in the programs. <br /> *********************** <br /> I will be out of the office most of the day on Friday. I have an ICMA/MCMA meeting in <br /> Duluth in the afternoon and in-laws in the evening I will say no more on that <br /> subject <br /> *********************** <br /> Paul-is-on-vacation through-July-30th. The-Chief-wi l-update-you-on-Bobby-Nelson <br /> (Everyone, please be sure and call him before next Wednesday and let him know <br /> how much you will be thinking of him). Michele is on vacation all of next week. I will <br /> be on vacation from August 11 through August 27- in California, on the beach, away <br /> from the heat, the humidity, the bugs, the storms okay, okay, so I'll be in <br /> earthquake territory. It the "Big One" hits, what stories I will have to tell....if I live to tell <br /> about it! <br /> Have a good weekend and see you on Monday! <br /> PERSONNEL <br /> Cable TV Technician/Producer- Four applicants were interviewed Wednesday, July 12 <br /> for the Cable TV Technician/Producer position. Mary Saarion, Jerry Skelly Sr., Dale <br /> Irving and I interviewed the qualified candidates who applied for the position. A <br /> recommendation from the interview panel is included in the agenda packet. <br /> Recording Secretary - Closing date for the recording secretary is Friday, July 14. To <br /> date we have received zero applications. We have received a few inquiries for the <br /> position but no applications. (Hopefully we will receive some applications before <br /> Friday). <br /> TUG <br /> A TUG meeting was held Thursday morning at Shoreview Community Center. <br /> Continued from the previous meeting, discussion focused on CDL drug and alcohol <br /> testing programs and services available to cities. The Department of Transportation <br /> has implemented an alcohol and drug testing requirement for safety-sensitive <br /> employees. Counties and cities that have 49 or less safety sensitive employees must <br /> implement a program by January 1, 1996. TUG members have organized a Drug <br /> Testing Subcommittee to research companies who can service cities and counties <br /> who do not comply with the new regulations. <br /> Lynnette <br />
