Birchwood Realty: • Birchwood Realty, located on the corner of Silver Lake Road and H2, is closing its doors this summer. The building is being prepared to go on the market this month. The owner, Kent Allen, made this decision several months ago. The decision had nothing to do with the building being hit by the 4Plex graffiti. J met with Mr. Allen and will be assisting in his search for a new owner of the building. I will share the information with you once I receive it from Birchwood. The good news, I did hear a rumor that Appearance Plus beauty salon may be interested in buying the building. Pride, Progress and Partnership T-shirts: • We had several inquirers regarding the PPP T-shirts and sweatshirts at the Festival. We sold 14 T-shirts and 3 sweatshirts. We are displaying them at the reception area in City Hall. Tell all your friends to get theirs now to support the marketing program. Wolf & Associates: • Once again Wolf & Associates is looking at options for expansion. Their latest option, and most desirable, is to purchase the adjacent property and expand to the south. This would be a 60,000 s.f. expansion and would include moving their Oakdale facility to Mounds View. It is estimated that there would be 20-25 new jobs due to the expansion. New plans have been submitted to Paul for building review. I arranged a meeting for Wolf with Ramsey County and St. Paul Metro East Development Corporation for equipment and SBA financing. If all goes as planned, we will have another ground breaking by the end of the year. A coincidence? Wolf has not had any complaints from Towns Edge Manufactured Home Park since the main complainant moved! Cathy FINANCE • Meter reading cards are coming in; Kitty Hickok and Dorothy Peterson are busy entering the reads into the billing system in preparation for the second quarter utility billing.
