On July 24, 199S,wes, ut a
letter to Mark Murlowski describing the information that would be needed for SEH to complete a
review of the project. Clark Engineering has submitted for review all the necessary Infos shoo,as
described in the July 24 letter.
All the hydrologic and water quality calculations submitted appear to accurately model the
drainage system. The only item that can not be accurately reviewed is the ponding areas for flood
storage. An estimate of the final grading contours in the wetland area would provide this
information. This data can be presented at the Council work session.
Clark engineering recommends that two water quality ponds should be constructed as part of the
master drainage plan. Based on the wetland delineation and current wetland regulation limiting
construction in wetlands, the two pond plan would be the most feasible. The pond for Lot 1 will
reduce the buildable land, but appears not to adversely impact potential development.
Based on our preliminary review,we recommend moving Pond 2 which is for Lot 1. It appears that
the pond as shown will eliminate the high area next to the ditch. This will reduce or eliminate the
possibility of a trail through the area. It appears that the pond would fit better if it is moved south
which would put the pond closer to the wetland and make it blend in with the surrounding
wetlands.
Information needed for final review and final recommendation are:
Additional contour information to verify 100-year ponding area
Review of Pond 2 location to assure it does not adversely impact the City's recreational use
plans
Since these are minor items, they can be presented at the work session. At that time,I can give my
final recommendation. Please call me at 490-2026 if you have any questions.
tlo
