CRY OF
REQUEST FOR COUNCIL CONSIDERATION Agenda Section:
111706STAFF REPORT Report Number:
VY AGENDA SESSION DATE Report Date:
DISPOSITION
Item Description:
Administrator's Review/Recommendation:
- No comments to supplement this report
- Comments attached.
Explanation/Summary (attach supplement sheets as necessary.)
SUMMARY;
QUARTERLY REPORT
PARKS, RECREATION & FORESTRY
SECOND QUARTER — APRIL, MAY, JUNE
The second quarter highlight was the opening of The Bridges
Practice Center, April 24, the Dedication June 24 followed by the
Grand Opening June 25. Continuous play has kept all employees
very busy keeping up with customer demand. Weather has been
favorable with a few days of rain and a few more days of high
temperatures, but the average being excellent golf weather. The
end of July revenue of $48, 000 is a good indication of the amount
of business that The Bridges is drawing.
Park Maintenance continues to be a challenge with an excellent
grass growing season. Frequent rains and warm weather has grass
growing steadily, making for nice green turf, but also requiring
continuous mowing. Thank goodness for the new mowers, which have
been performing excellently.
This Spring several episodes of graffiti hits at Lambert Park
building, play equipment, and basketball backboard, Hillview and
Woodcrest Park buildings, and Oakwood Park playground equipment
requiring many hours of labor to remove the graffiti. It is a
relief that the culprits have been caught. No graffiti has been
suffered since June.
RECOMMENDATION;
