LINAPPROVE
Mounds View City Council Page 11
Regular Meeting July 17, 1995
would like to see the study when it was completed. Barry
stated that he is a strong ecologically-minded person.

Linke stated that Mounds View has 2 times what the average
flow is.

Barry stated that he would still like to see the studies.

Dave Jahnke stated that he had studied the documents provided
to him and would ask Council to delay any action and let the
public have input. Council could possible wait one more
month.

Rod Kirtz asked if the SAC charge is based on the WAC charge.

Linke explained that the WAC charge is set up by the MWCC.

Rod Kirtz stated that he had heard from several building
inspectors not to hook up drain tile systems to sewer systems.
If WAC is increased then SAC is also increased?

Linke stated that the City is not increasing WAC.

Rod Kirtz stated that if more income is created if meters are
charged out than that will increase WAC which will also
increase SAC.

Linke stated that the WAC charge is a flat fee.

Rhonda Smeija asked if the public would be getting more
information before a decision is made.

Mayor Linke commented that he supports holding off.

Smeja also asked a question regarding the fact that the meters
are running 98% and there are 2900 residential meters which
there is a loss of $32, 000 which she divided by 2900 to come
up with $11. 00 per year which would pay the $32, 000.
Smeja asked if the meters couldn't be changed out as the
houses are sold rather than all at once.

Linke explained that the meters will keep getting worse and
the houses aren't turned over that quickly. The meters are
only a mechanical piece of equipment. Linke commented that
his was put in 1952 and he would be surprised if it were
running at 92%. To his knowledge, his meter has never been
worked on.

Smeija asked what the WAC fund is used for.
