Consideration of Authorizing Staff to Install Netting at Golf <br /> 2 Course at a Cost Not To Exceed $18,000 <br /> 3 <br /> 4 Mary Saarion, Director of Parks, Recreation and Forestry, <br /> 5 reported that the netting at the golf course was needed to <br /> 6 prevent golf balls from damaging equipment parked at Blaine <br /> 7 Brother's Trucking Firm. Saarion requested Council to approve <br /> 8 the purchase of netting contingent upon receiving three <br /> 9 competitive estimates and authorize staff to contract the <br /> 10 installation of netting for a cost not to exceed $18,000. <br /> 11 <br /> 12 MOTION/SECOND: Hankner/Blanchard to Approve the Installation <br /> 13 of Netting at Golf Course at a Cost Not to Exceed $18, 000, <br /> 14 Funds from Contingency Fund <br /> 15 <br /> 16 VOTE: 5 Ayes 0 Nays Motion Carried <br /> 17 <br /> 18 REPORTS <br /> 19 <br /> 20 1. Reported that she had heard many compliments <br /> 31 and verbally thanked all of those who were involved <br /> 32 in the organization of the Festival. The Festival <br /> 33 helps to promote our community. <br /> 34 <br /> 35 b. Attended a meeting regarding the use of the arsenal <br /> 36 land. This group will be meeting until October and <br /> 37 will make a decision on the best use of the land. <br /> 38 Trude reported that Ardan Hills had hired an outside <br /> 39 planning agency who has prepared four different <br /> 40 proposals for the use of this land for natural uses <br /> 41 and passive recreation. <br /> 42 <br /> 43 Report of Mayor Linke: <br /> 44 <br /> 45 Mayor Linke listed all persons who volunteered their time to work <br /> 46 on the Festival and verbally thanked all of those volunteers. <br /> 47 Linke also gave statistics on attendance and commented on the <br /> 48 parade and its organization. <br /> 49 <br /> 50 <br />
