* The sewer department is cleaning sewer. They also assisted the City of North St.
Paul, Aug. 23, with a sewer break. (Jet Rodded)
* Additional training on the Pavement Management Program was done Aug. 17.
Jim Hess, Mike Ulrich and Tracy Juell attended.
* Robb Ramacher has now left to attend his 2nd year at Purdue. We will miss his
help and wish him the best of luck.
* The City received a REFUND from NSP for almost $10,000.00! While going
through the bills, Mike discovered that NSP was charging the City sales tax for
the electricity on the wells that pump water to the public; which is non-taxable.
* Bill Hanggi is volunteering at the AWWA (American Water Works Association)
booth at the State Fair Aug. 24.
Tracy Juell
CquimmimmiCOMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT
7618 EDGEWOOD DRIVE 4-PLEX
Staff got word this week that the owner of 7618 Edgewood Drive has issued notices
to the tenants to vacate the building by the end of September. Once the tenants are
out of the building, the owner plans to make repairs to the structure and put it on the
market. Staff is thrilled that progress on repairing and selling the building is finally
being made. More news will be given as it becomes available.
CODE ENFORCEMENT SEMINAR
Joyce attended a seminar hosted by the Minnesota Chapter of the American Planning
Association this past week to discuss issues related to code enforcement and takings.
The session provided good insight into procedures and practices which will hold up
in court.
END OF MY REIGN
With the return of Samantha on Monday, my brief stint as Administrator comes to an
end. Thanks to all who made the 2+ weeks she was gone manageable. No thanks
to Chief Ramacher who did his best to give me ulcers, headaches, high blood
pressure and general anxiety problems - what a team player!
