Continued Discussion of Assessment Policy, Staff Report No. <br /> 17 95-1412C <br /> 18 <br /> 19 Mike Ulrich, Public Works Director, reported that further <br /> 20 investigation was conducted to find the similarities and <br /> 21 differences in the City Charter, City Code, and Assessment <br /> 22 Policy and staff came to the conclusion that amending the <br /> 23 current Code, Chapter 202 would be a more appropriate measure <br /> 24 than pursuing a new assessment policy. Ulrich explained that <br /> 25 revising Chapter 202 will simplify and clarify the assessment <br /> 26 procedures. <br /> 27 <br /> 28 Ulrich recommended that the Council deny Ordinance No. 560 <br /> 29 and that staff then could begin preparing an amendment to <br /> 30 Chapter 202 of the City Code. Ulrich stated that Council <br /> 31 could then set a public hearing for August 21, 1995. <br /> 32 <br /> 33 Hanker asked if Duane McCarty brought in his answers to how <br /> 34 the Assessment Policy and Chapter 202 could be melted <br /> 35 together. <br /> 36 <br /> 37 Ulrich responded that Mr. McCarty had not brought any <br /> 38 information to staff. <br /> 39 <br /> 40 Councilmember Trude reported that she has received many calls <br /> 41 on the status of the assessment policy. <br /> 42 <br /> 43 Councilmember Hankner stated that the Council is still <br /> 44 negotiating and reaching a consensus. <br /> 45 <br /> 46 MOTION/SECOND: Hankner/Quick to Table Ordinance No. 560 <br /> 47 <br /> 48 VOTE: 5 Ayes 0 Nays Motion Carried <br /> 49 <br />
