* John has been working on the greens with topdressing and aerating as part of
winterizing. He is using equipment to demo it and will be making sure it is the
right equipment for purchase.
* Golf hours have been shortened not only due to shortened daylight but also
due to morning frost.
* Last week City sponsored league banquets were held. League and course
evaluations were collected. Evaluations are very favorable. The most
consistent request is for quicker play. Slow play seems to be a concern.
There are many ways that we can deal with this next year including spacing tee
times farther apart, more aggressive ranger patrols, and league rules enforced
regarding lost balls. One of the reasons for slow play is that the course is
attractive to beginner players who tend to take more golf shots which results in
slower play.
CABLE TV:
* Cindy Johnson resigned from her position last Friday. Samantha will be
interviewing a finalist candidate from the original list. Jerry Skelly Jr and Dale
Irving will work the September 26 City Council meeting cablecast. All other
cable tv projects are "on hold".
Mary S.
POLICE
* Most of our officers attended a three hour "legal Update"
seminar last week.
* Dave Brick is attending an Emergency Management seminar this
week held at Rutger's Resort. Pat Michna is in St. Cloud attending a Justice
Information Convention. Jack Chambers is also gone---training for the position
of "Field Training Officer".
* A Department meeting was held last week. Many issues were discussed. The
Pursuit and Missing Persons Policies were reviewed.
* Steve Geringer had a busy weekend. On Friday night, he responded to three
different "party" calls. At each call he made a warrant arrest. He also arrested
three people for D.W.I. and two people for assault. Nice job Steve!
