* John has been working on the greens with topdressing and aerating as part of <br /> winterizing. He is using equipment to demo it and will be making sure it is the <br /> right equipment for purchase. <br /> * Golf hours have been shortened not only due to shortened daylight but also <br /> due to morning frost. <br /> * Last week City sponsored league banquets were held. League and course <br /> evaluations were collected. Evaluations are very favorable. The most <br /> consistent request is for quicker play. Slow play seems to be a concern. <br /> There are many ways that we can deal with this next year including spacing tee <br /> times farther apart, more aggressive ranger patrols, and league rules enforced <br /> regarding lost balls. One of the reasons for slow play is that the course is <br /> attractive to beginner players who tend to take more golf shots which results in <br /> slower play. <br /> CABLE TV: <br /> * Cindy Johnson resigned from her position last Friday. Samantha will be <br /> interviewing a finalist candidate from the original list. Jerry Skelly Jr and Dale <br /> Irving will work the September 26 City Council meeting cablecast. All other <br /> cable tv projects are "on hold". <br /> Mary S. <br /> POLICE <br /> * Most of our officers attended a three hour "legal Update" <br /> seminar last week. <br /> * Dave Brick is attending an Emergency Management seminar this <br /> week held at Rutger's Resort. Pat Michna is in St. Cloud attending a Justice <br /> Information Convention. Jack Chambers is also gone---training for the position <br /> of "Field Training Officer". <br /> * A Department meeting was held last week. Many issues were discussed. The <br /> Pursuit and Missing Persons Policies were reviewed. <br /> * Steve Geringer had a busy weekend. On Friday night, he responded to three <br /> different "party" calls. At each call he made a warrant arrest. He also arrested <br /> three people for D.W.I. and two people for assault. Nice job Steve! <br />
