* Staff attended a Ramsey County Technical Advisory Committee meeting last
week. The county's CIP was discussed for 1996 through 1998. At this time the
reconstruction and realignment of Old Hwy 8 in scheduled for 1996. Funding
for this project will be from County levy increases. Staff will keep Council
informed on future updates.
* Tracy and Jim attended a training seminar on the Pavement Management
Program this week.
* The water division is preparing for the winter season by beginning to pump fire
hydrants. One of our remaining seasonals is performing this task.
Mike
COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT
SYSCO DEVELOPMENT
Staff met this week with Larry Farr and Norm Mead of Sysco to discuss plans for the
expansion of their facility on County Road J. At the time the current Sysco facility
was built (1989), a plan for the expansion of the facility was given preliminary
approval by the Council. The owners of Sysco are now in a position to proceed with
those plans. Staff anticipates receiving a formal development review application in
October with review at the Planning and Council levels in November\December.
FIRST LOAN
Staff received word this week that a couple has submitted a purchase agreement on
a home located on Sunnyside Road. Karen DuCharm of Marquette Mortgage
informed Staff that the couple will be using rehabilitation funds obtained by the City to
re-carpet and re-roof the home. The funds were made available to the City through
the Minnesota Housing Finance Agency (MHFA). Although it is a small project, it is
the first of its kind in Mounds View and, will hopefully lead to more projects in the
future.
Paul
