STAFF REPORT
PAGE TWO
NOVEMBER 6, 1995
Prior to the September, 1996 Council Work Session, a City
staff committee shall present to. the Council at least one
proposal that would, if approved by Council, establish a
policy for an employee/employer funding mechanism by which
employees who retire prior to age 65 will have single coverage
health premiums paid to age 65.
3 . Weekend Beeper.
Instead of tracking beeper time on a pay period basis, it
would be tracked on a daily basis. There is no cost with
this provision, it only allows more flexibility for trading
beeper time.
4 . Uniforms
Increase the yearly allotment for required work boots from
$25/yr. to $35/yr.
5. Floating Holiday
This issue was discussed last year when it was suggested that
the City formalize a floating holiday to cover 4 hours on
Christmas and New Year's Eves. In years when the eve falls on
a weekend, the 8 hours could be utilized anytime during the
year.
This practice would be for all employees and would also bring
us to the Metro norm of 11 paid holidays.
If Council is comfortable with these provisions, the Agreement will
be prepared for your formal consideration at the December 11
Council meeting.
