Mary and Sharie worked at the community bonfire on Tuesday night handing out hot
dogs and greeting guests. Despite the awful weather, the turn out was pretty good
for a first year event. The second year always does a lot better.
FORESTRY
Rick and his crew have been winterizing trees in Mounds View. Greenfield
experienced vandalism of one of the good sized trees by the tennis court when
someone drove their car into it. Rick was able to push it back into place without any
root damage and says it should survive.
GOLF COURSE
The range and course are closed through November 6 and opening will depend upon
weather. The grounds crew just finished blowing out the irrigation system and the
greens, tees, and fairways have all received applications for prevention of snow mold.
Additional course maintenance will occur as weather conditions allow.
Sharie
POLICE
* Linda and Pat are attending computer class this week and for
the next three weeks. (4 hrs. per week)
* Reed Krogh responded to a domestic call this past weekend. A
suspect was arrested, but in the process, Reed got kicked in the face and
scraped his hand. Reed continued to work and he is fine now.
* Mike Kampa had surgery on his right shoulder. He had hurt it
months ago subduing a suspect. Mike is expected to return to work no
sooner than mid December.
* Halloween night was a little slower than average. Obviously,
the weather was a determining factor. The Police Dept. would like to
thank everyone who worked and participated in the community bonfire.
* The Chief has attended meetings this week concerning a proposed
liaison officer at Irondale High School. Will talk to the Council on
Monday.
Tim R.
