PUBLIC WORKS <br /> * Public Works had a water main break on January 11, 1995 at Longview and <br /> Woodcrest. The break was located under a huge tree at the curb line and it <br /> was-a tittte-tricky-making-the-repair The-crew-had-to-cut-a-good-amount of -- <br /> tree roots to get at the break. The repair took a little longer than normal, but <br /> the end result was good; the break was repaired and the tree still remains in <br /> tact. <br /> * Staff completed a MSA survey and a "Snow Plowing Practice" Survey. The <br /> snow plowing survey is distributed by the State's Auditors Office and Mounds <br /> View was chosen as (1) out of (60) municipalities selected to share their best <br /> snow plowing practices. We will get a copy of the compiled results from the <br /> Auditors Office. (We participated in a similar survey last year that was put out <br /> by the Metropolitan Council.) <br /> * Staff was contacted by Tim Nelson, a manager from the Business Park, asking <br /> for an additional stop sign to be put up at Quincy and Woodale. In October, <br /> 1994, Staff did a traffic count and study in this area, our conclusions were that <br /> a stop sign was not warranted. I explained these findings to Mr. Nelson and <br /> that if he still felt a stop sign was needed, he could address the City Council. <br /> Staff has a strong feeling that Mr. Nelson will be addressing the Council in the <br /> near future. <br /> Mike <br /> COMMUNITY <br /> DEVELOPMENT <br /> ADULT USE ORDINANCE <br /> Staff met with the City Attorney this week to further discuss the enactment of the Adult <br /> Use Ordinance. Discussion centered on the available land area for such uses and <br /> how the City will control the operations. Staff and the Attorney are currently in the <br />
