This year's celebration dates are July 8 <br /> and 9 with activities happening throughout the community the entire week prior to Festival. <br /> The Festival Committee discussed goals and objectives for having the yearly celebration. The <br /> consensus of committee members is that our "Festival in the Park" celebration is a valued activity <br /> that fosters community pride and awareness of the many benefits and good quality of life living <br /> in Mounds View brings to its residents. This committee of enthusiastic and active members is <br /> dedicated to providing a quality community celebration for all the families in the City of Mounds <br /> View and surrounding communities. <br /> This year's Festival will include a large parade. Parade units will include: <br /> • Up to 9 High School Marching bands <br /> • Floats featuring local businesses and surrounding communities Festival Queens and <br /> Princesses <br /> • Antique cars <br /> • Clowns <br /> • Fire engines <br /> • Horses <br /> • Local celebrities and much more! <br /> Activities held throughout the community on "Festival Week" will include volleyball and bowling <br /> tournaments at the Mermaid Entertainment Center, a Medallion Hunt sponsored by Rent All <br /> MN, an open antique market at Moundsview Antiques, an anniversary celebration at Western <br /> Bank, an ice cream social at Mounds View Square, softball tournaments at Silver View, a golf <br /> tournament at "The Bridges" and more! Activities will culminate on July 9 at City Hall Park with <br /> entertainment, food, games, softball games, etc. We hope to have a grand finale with fireworks <br /> at "The Bridges" Golf Course the evening of the 9th, depending upon fundraising efforts. <br /> RtECOMMENDATION; <br /> To transfer $4,000 from the Contingency Fund to Professional <br /> Services 100-4100-303000 to provide operating funds for the 1995 <br /> Festival in the Park celebration to be held on July 8 and 9. <br />
