The purpose of the workbook is to get everyone thinking about
what they want to accomplish in 1995 and 1996 based on what has
been accomplished in 1994 and what new issues you would like to
discuss for the future. If everyone "fills in the blanks" and
comes prepared with a sense of what they want to discuss, it will
make the process flow smoothly.
Auto Central
I learned from Councilmember Hankner that Auto Central has had a
complaint against them in regards to an auto sale that was in
dispute by the buyer. Last Friday, I met with the new owner of
Auto Central to inform him that the City had been made aware of a
complaint against his business. Evidently, the ownership change
has just occurred and he was not aware of the complaint —Auto — - -
Central also had not yet paid its license fee, which he paid
promptly after our meeting. He stated that he would "look into"
the complaint and get back to me.
Just out of curiosity, I asked Michele to talk to the Better
Business Bureau and the A.G. 's office and see if formal
complaints had been filed against Auto Central. The A.G. 's office
has not received any complaints that have resulted in formal
action against the company. The Better Business Bureau has
received one complaint and because Auto Central did not answer
their request for a response to the claim, they have given Auto
Central an Unsatisfactory rating.
Because the ownership has changed, Paul and I will be meeting
with the new owner to go over with him the approved site plan so
that he is aware of the number of cars he can have on the site
and in what configuration. I'll keep you posted.
Duane McCarty's Letter to the Editor
According to the Bulletin, the letter was signed by Duane without
any mention of his affiliation with the Charter Commission.
February Work Session Items
A preliminary agenda includes:
* Discussion of a policy approach to manufactured home closings
(per Councilmember Trude)
* Discussion of Water Shut-Off Policy (tabled from December 19th
meeting)
* Update on energy savings analysis
Please let me know if there are any items you wished placed on
the agenda.
Samantha
