Bob has sent a list of <br /> financial consultants for Charlie to review. The goal of the <br /> meeting was to convey to. Charlie and Dan the City's excitement <br /> for this project and to outline the financial information that <br /> the City needs to prepare a request for TIF assistance - 1f-that <br /> is the direction Charlie wishes to explore. <br /> The Halls have made a brief presentation of their proposal to the <br /> EDC and are currently working to secure a hotel franchise. As <br /> soon as that part of the development equation is "firmed up" , <br /> Charlie will come to a Council Work Session to outline his <br /> proposed project and request consideration of economic <br /> development assistance. <br /> Request from MVAA <br /> Last Friday, Mary S. and I met with Ernie LaPore. As a <br /> representative of MVAA, Mr. LaPore was requesting that the City <br /> provide land in one of the area parks, preferably near a City <br /> building, upon which to construct a 24x24 ft. equipment building. <br /> MVAA has the money for the building and would pay all operational <br /> costs, but cannot fund land acquisition. The Parks and Recreation <br /> Commission will be reviewing this request at their next meeting <br /> and making a recommendation to the Council at the March Work <br /> Session. <br /> Highway 610 <br /> Timely event I have been appointed to the Highway <br /> 610 Coalition Board. This organization is comprised of <br /> representatives from all the cities along the 610 corridor. Over <br /> the past two years, I have maintained contact with the <br /> organization to monitor their progress, especially in terms of <br /> actions with the federal agencies.
