MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL
PAGE TWO OF TWO
MARCH 20, 1995
It is staff's recommendation that Brus Von Ende be reclassified to
the position of overall Golf Course Manager and that the City
reclassify Kurt's position from Golf Course Manager/Superintendent
to Golf Course Superintendent.
The salary range for the Superintendent can be decreased because of
the reduced responsibilities. Consequently, the salary range for
the Golf Course Manager will be increased in accordance with
additional responsibilities. It is still antici ed that the
Manager position will remain a partial year position.
Kurt's last day will be April 21st. That doesn't leave much time
for us to advertise, interview, select and allow for the new person
to give proper notice to a current employer and be on board before
Kurt leaves. It is imperative that the new Superintendent have at
least one week with Kurt to learn the operations of the course,
especially the irrigation system.
If Councilmembers are comfortable with the proposed reorganization,
staff can arrange to place an ad in the next issue of the
professional superintendent's magazine as well as this Sunday's
Tribune and Pioneer Press.
Staff will bring the reorganizational proposal to the Council for
formal approval at the March 27 meeting.
