14.2 Employees notified by the employer to be on court standby status will be <br /> compensated a total of two hours based upon the employee's normal hourly <br /> rate fore each day the employee is to standby for court duty but is not called <br /> into court. In consideration for the daily compensation, the employee shall be <br /> available to appear in the appropriate court, in uniform, to testify with minimum <br /> delay when telephonically notified by the employer. Any employee on court <br /> standby duty who cannot be notified by telephone of the need for a court <br /> appearance will not be compensated for that day. <br /> The two hours compensation for court standby duty will not be given if the <br /> employer has notified or attempted to notify the employee of a cancellation of <br /> the status no later than 1700 hours on the day preceding the court date. <br /> Unless notified to the contrary, standby status shall continue for a maximum <br /> two consecutive days at which time the employee shall contact the employer <br /> by the day following initiation of standby status, who will continue or cancel <br /> standby status, as required. Court standby pay will not be granted on a day • <br /> when the employee is compensated for a court appearance. <br /> ARTICLE XVI - WORKING OUT OF CLASSIFICATION <br /> Employees assigned by the EMPLOYER to assume the full responsibilities and <br /> authority of a higher job classification shall receive the salary schedule for the higher <br /> classification for the duration of the assignment. <br /> ARTICLE XVII - INSURANCE <br /> 17.1 The EMPLOYER will contribute up to a maximum of three hundred ten ($310) <br /> per month per employee for employee and dependent group health and life <br /> insurance for calendar year 1994 and maximum of three hundred thirty ($330) <br /> per month per employee for employee and dependent group health and life <br /> insurance for calendar year 1995. <br /> 17.2 Additional insurance: The employee may designate a portion of the $310 <br /> maximum provided in 1994 and $330 of the maximum provided in 1995 in <br /> Article 17.1 to provide dental coverage through the City's group dental plan <br /> and/or to provide supplemental life insurance through City offered plans. <br /> ARTICLE XVIII - STANDBY PAY <br /> Employees required by the EMPLOYER to standby shall be compensated for such <br /> standby time at the rate of 1 hour compensatory time off for each hour on standby. <br />
