my cF Agenda Section: 1 1 Tj <br /> REQUEST FOR COUNCIL CONSIDERATION Report Number: 95-1312 C <br /> !VMS Report Date: 4-70-95 <br /> STAFF REPORT Council Action: <br /> EW ❑ Special Order of Business <br /> CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE April 24, 1995 ❑ Public Hearings <br /> ❑ Consent Agenda <br /> g Council Business <br /> Item Description: Consideration of Resolution No. 4753 Approving the Bargaining Unit Contract <br /> and the 1995 Compensation Schedule and Insurance Contribution Schedule for the <br /> Public Wnrks and Parks MaintPnanca Bargaining Unit <br /> Administrator's Review/Recommendation: <br /> - No comments to supplement this report <br /> - Comments attached. <br /> Explanation/Summary (attach supplement sheets as-necessary.) <br /> SUMMARY; <br /> In 1994, the Public Works and Parks Maintenance Bargaining Unit agreed to <br /> abide by the arbitration award granted to police in terms of salary, <br /> insurance, vacation, sick and holiday pay. <br /> The attached Labor Agreement reflects those provisions, clarification of <br /> old provisions and the addition of a new provision: <br /> * 2 . 5% increase to 1994 base pay <br /> * $20/mo. increase to City's contribution to family health <br /> insurance, from $310 in 1994 to $330 (this is the same <br /> contribution level for Police and Non-union employees) <br /> * Up to $65 no often than every two years for protective safety <br /> glasses (prescription) . Past City practice had been to pay the <br /> entire cost of the glasses (Page 7, 15.2, new Agreement item) . <br /> * Revised requirements for Level D in Streets and Sewer to closer <br /> relate the work with the needed requirement (Page 13 , <br /> clarification item) . <br /> * Allow the current $25/year reimbursement for safety shoes to <br /> roll over in a three year period to accumulate to $75 (page 9, <br /> 19 . 2 , clarification item) . <br /> The Agreement covers the time period of January 1, 1994 through December <br /> 31, 1995. <br /> Requested Action: Motion to waive the reading and approve the 1994-95 Labor <br /> Agreement with the Public Works and Parks Maintenance Bargaining Unit. <br /> d'r <br /> Samant a Ordun" , City Admini rator <br /> RECOMMENDATION; <br />
