Parks, Recreation & Forestry Dept. <br /> January-February March, 1995 <br /> Quarterly Report <br /> Page Two <br /> • Staff facilitated the process for adoption of new comprehensive Park Ordinance. <br /> • Staff arranged and facilitated interviews of six firms who submitted proposals for <br /> design/engineering and inspection services for pedestrian bridge. <br /> • Staff attended training: Entrapment Seminar, Water Recertification, Chemical Applications <br /> Seminar. <br /> • Staff prepared a parks facility brochure for park users. <br /> RECREATION DIVISION: <br /> • Supervised activities and staff at park ice rinks. <br /> • Held weekly rink staff meetings. <br /> • Prepared spring activities brochure. <br /> • Recruited and hired spring recreation staff. <br /> • Formatted City Goals brochure. <br /> • Formatted January/February and March/April City Newsletters. <br /> • Staff prepared specifications and solicited bids for portable restroom facilities. <br /> • Staff prepared specifications and solicited bids for softballs and baseballs. <br /> • Staff researched prices and purchased youth athletic equipment. <br /> • Youth athletic programs were planned and advertised with opening registration on Saturday, <br /> March 18. <br /> • Held adult softball registrations in March. <br /> • Facilitated regular community committee meetings including: Festival in the Park Committee, <br /> Mounds View Community Theatre and Mounds View Garden Club. <br /> • Solicited and received program evaluations for customer input regarding on-going programming <br /> activities. <br /> • Staff met with neighboring communities to coordinate join activities for Junior and Senior <br /> youth softball. <br /> • Staff began scheduling community use of Hillview and Groveland Park buildings after rinks <br /> closed. <br /> • Staff attended workshops on Aquatic Revenue Facilities, Park Patrols and completed <br /> certification in Festival Management. <br /> • Staff is serving on State committee to better define data privacy requirements. <br /> • Staff attended Bethel College Jobs Fair to recruit summer recreation staff. <br /> • Staff designed and formatted 8 page special Golf Course Newsletter. <br /> • Staff received $775.00 arts grant. <br />
