FIVE YEAR GOAL PLAN
The 1995 Five Year Goal Plan is scheduled to be hand delivered
this weekend. A special Golf Course edition is being delivered
at the same time.
Tim C.
Business Retention:
• Economic Development Commission member, Mark Malone and I met with a
local manufacturing company, Industrial Custom Products. The meeting was
prompted by an article in the City Business paper regarding ICP's recent buyout
and search for new space. I have attached a copy of the article to this it it. The
company is looking to lease less expensive space and would like to stay in the
North Metro. Unfortunately, the Mounds View Business Park's lease rates are
too high and there is no other space in Mounds View available that would fit
their needs. In any case the President was very appreciative of the City's
interest in the company's future plans. Currently, they are looking at space in
Blaine and New Brighton. I will be putting the company in touch with Ramsey
County regarding their business loan program.
Business Loan Program:
• Samantha and I met with Jim O'Meara regarding the drafted business loan
participation agreement and to find out what requirements the EDA needs to
fulfill to be able to use the excess tax increment dollars to fund the program.
Fortunately, with the last amendment to the TIF plan, this type of activity is
included. Therefore, we will only need to prepare a resolution for EDA's
approval outlining how the program fits into the plan. It is expected that all the
documentation will be ready for EDA's review at the May work session.
Cathy
