* While we have many returning summer seasonal workers, a few positions
are open. Applications have been received for these positions and
interviews are occurring this and next week while college students return
home for the holiday weekend.
* The park facility map has been prepared and is almost ready for printing.
The last park facility map was printed approximately 5 years ago and
therefore needed updating.
GOLF COURSE MANAGEMENT TEAM
* Brus has developed a great instructional design for the golf practice range -
providing a challenge to all types of golfers. In fact, with this design, a
golfer will be able to play a pretend game of their own at the practice range.
The Practice Range is a unique quality of the golf course and will be very
popular. The Opening date for the Practice Range is April 24.
* The weather has not been cooperating. The coldness has slowed ground
thaw which has kept the top of the ground soggy and therefore we have
been unable to perform much maintenance. The Golf Course Maintenance
crew is anxious to get onto the course. Needless to say, the lack of warmth
stifles grass growth. But, it is only the first part of April and warm weather
is sure to come sooner or later.
* Grand Opening arrangements and work has begun. Apparel is being ordered.
Food and pop will soon arrive. Operations of the Clubhouse will be ready for
the opening of the Practice Range on April 24.
* Passcards have been finalized and printing costs are being solicited.
* Brus provided his first Swing Analysis this past week - requested by a patron
who saw the information in the Golf Course Edition of Mounds View Matters
* The credit card system forms have been completed and will be in effect
during the first day of registration for leagues and lessons, April 22.
* Brus has interviewed and selected seasonal staff and is in the process of
checking references. These will be submitted to the Golf Course
Management Team for final approval.
* Mary has spoken with Garrett Gill regarding the need to add a handrail to the
boardwalk. Garrett will contact Bridgeco with our request, to be followed by
a cost estimate for the work - to be done at the same time as they level the
boardwalk.
* Tim has received fewer applications than expected for the Golf Course
